Textual Critism on 1 Corinthians 14:34-35
I’ve posted something on this over on my Threads blog, titled Does Gordon Fee Discard Part of the Bible?. That post is a response to part of a interview with Wayne Grudem by Adrian Warnock.
I think it will be of interest to readers of this blog for the textual criticism aspects, though less so for the controversial theological aspects.
PERHAPS THAT SINCE IT IS BELIEVED THAT FEMALES
TALK A LOT AND TALK TOO MUCH, THAT THIS SCRIPTURE
IN 1-CORINTHIANS COULD MEAN FOR WOMEN TO BE
QUITE IN CHURCH BACK THEN SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT
INTERUPPT THE CHURCH SERVICE!
BECAUSE ONCE WOMEN START TALKING SOMETIMES
THEY SEEM NOT TO STOP TALKING FOR A WHILE!!
SO MAYBE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BACK THEN
WAIT UNTI THEY GET HOME TO SPEAK AND ASK
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CHURCH SERVICE THEY
ATTENDED!! AND ABOUT THE SCRIPTURES!!
BECAUSE WHO WANTS A WOMAN BRAWLING IN THE CHURCH!!
OR GETTING ALL UPSET OR EMOTIONAL!!
OR ASKING SO MANY QUESTIONS IN THE CHURCH
SERVICE THAT IT TURNS A TWO HOUR CHURCH SERVICE
INTO A (4) OR (5) HOUR CHURCH SERVICE!!

Big Mouth: And then again you might be totally wrong, and God may not appreciate it that you claim to speak for him while putting down women.
You might think about that.
