When Robots Chat
This is too much fun:
HT: The Agitator, who suggests they should be hired as commentators by MSNBC and Fox News. I agree.

How David Ker Made Me Read Jim West
David Ker has written a book, and it has lots of pictures of hippos in it. Since my very favorite song is “I want a hippopotamus for Christmas,” this means that I truly adore the book. Besides, I’m only about a decade late taking notice of it.
Now I haven’t actually read the book, but I read most of the blog posts that went into it, and I enjoyed them. I have duly downloaded it so I can peruse it in an orderly fashion.
But it was the fact that Jim West called the book “gas from a hippo’s backside” that really made me go and download it. I think, however, that David Ker lied to me (horrors!) and Jim didn’t actually write all that nasty stuff about his book. So I’m truly disappointed. No, that’s not right. Make that impressed!
I always tell my authors that a truly nasty review is great for publicity. But to write one yourself, and credit it to a creatively credible culprit (not to mention creedally correct [see depravity)–that’s genius!

Vegetarians and Nazis
Ed Brayton has a post up regarding a WND column by Ellis Washington which is off-the-map weird. In it, Washington links vegetarianism and fascism because, well, Hitler was a vegetarian. I’m a vegetarian, so I guess by those standards …
In any case, this reminded me of another column back in 2006 which claimed that soy products would make people gay. I posted about it at the time.
I know some of you hate the idea of linking to WorldNetDaily, but I find this stuff hard to believe until I’ve gone and read it myself.

When Will Teachers Sacrifice like Wall Street Execs?
A very funny clip from The Daily Show:
I would normally have a serious problem with comparing the two situations, with Wall Street execs paid by private organizations while teachers are paid by the state, but the waters are muddied by the bailout. Under normal circumstances, I’d support people getting whatever pay is determined by the market.
But what the market determined was that some major financial firms ought to fail. There’s a caveat in that one as well. What role did ineffective or even harmful regulation have on that situation.
But all these caveats ruin the humor.

Dogma Tweets
OK, these are just too much fun. I understand some people have gotten offended. If you’re that easily offended you should read them–you deserve it! (HT: Dave Black Online.)

See I Can …
And now for a rare humor break:
Reminds me of all the things people think I should be able to do because I read Greek.

Why is This Translation Important?
Because obviously the most important thing about being a man is the way you use the bathroom. Potty training issues, maybe?
(This is the second time there’s been a video of this guy preaching this. I blogged about it earlier here. Hat tip for this round: Abnormal Interests).

Am I Too Picky?
This Jimmy Dean commercial gets on my nerves. I know it’s supposed to be humorous, but but the whole idea of the sun commenting that it’s 10 am just goes beyond my ability to suspend disbelief and laugh! It’s 10 am in reference to what? Where?
