I’m about to do it. I’ll comment on this thread when it’s done.

The Evangelical Ecologist points to some interesting material on the possibility of getting fuel for energy from the moon. It seems to me that space exploration will really take off when we find an economic reason to go there. Spin-off technology is just not that likely to light up people’s life, and fundamental research is not sexy enough. A bit of helium-3 just might do it. 🙂

It’s over, it went well. What more is there to say?

I have had several series going on for some time, and I’d like to update you on them as we start the new year.

First, my series on Isaiah 24-27 is about to come to a close. In my list of drafts is the post Isaiah 27: Accomplishing Redemption which will be the final entry in that series. Right now quite a bit of it is in the form of marginal notes and a small stack of books with markers sticking out of them, but hopefully I’ll get it finished in the next few days and posted.

Second, my long running series on Hebrews will probably continue off and on for months. It’s my favorite book of the New Testament. I read it through frequently, and each time I read it I see more. I also have many, many notes that I have never attempted to put into a blog entry before. No end in sight here! 🙂

Third, my series on the first 11 chapters of Genesis is at chapter 9, and I have started to make some notes for an entry on that chapter.

The problem is finding time to write. I’m constantly attaching notes to verses in my Logos Bible software, and then literally forgetting about them. I wrote a post for my wife Jody’s devotional list yesterday based on one such note. I was reading through Deuteronomy and hit chapter 20 using Logos on my laptop, and there was an outline for this devotional, so I promptly wrote one!

Speaking of which, besides my wife’s devotional list, we’ve now taken a series of 4-5 minute radio broadcasts we made between 2001 and 2004 on a local radio station and started to post one daily as a podcast. Today’s entry is by Jody, and is titled The Word, Light, and You.

I missed wishing readers of this blog a Merry Christmas because I was out of town and left fairly quickly. At the last minute my wife and I were able to go to Ft. Worth, TX to see our daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters. A good time was had by all of us!

There are five nurses and a doctor on trial in Lybia for spreading AIDS, and it’s clear that they have done nothing, that the problem existed before they were there. Acephalous wants to measure the speed of a meme so he can report it at the MLA meeting. Now Well, I’m supposed to explain what’s going on here, and persuade all my readers to also link to the post, even going so far as to invent sob stories. Acephalous will be measuring links to his post every 10 minutes.

Now personally I think the best sob story is that this is an excellent way to get links, but even if that were so (and his site does look like a serious, interesting site), he’d certainly deserve to succeed with such a creative plan.

So whether it’s for science, or to reward a very creative link gathering plan, how about linking to him. Besides, you too will get to be a tiny part of a statistic used to advance science!
