Psalm 119:161 – Persecuted

What do we fear most? What keeps us from talking genuinely about what we believe, and what we don’t? Perhaps God’s word to us would be “Fear not!”

Psalm 119:162 – Rejoicing

God seeks us and rejoices when we are found, but we also get joy when found. God’s word comes to us as a joy-carrier.

Psalm 119:163 – Falsehood

True appreciation of God’s teachings requires a consistent rejection of falsehood.

The psalmist will praise God seven times a day. What are some other things that are repeated seven times in scripture?

What causes us offence? How can we live a life without such offence?

This verse has hope and action in the proper order. Action follows from trust and hope, not the reverse.

How is it possible to love the law? Is it possible to keep God’s law? This verse leads me to meditate on those questions.

God sees everything about us. Is this a threat or a privilege?

Psalm 119:169 – Understanding

Asking God for understanding or wisdom is a good idea, but we need to be ready to receive wisdom. That might require change! Oh no! Here comes repentance!

Psalm 119:170 – Before You

This verse expresses a common desire and the cry of many hearts. Let me plea come before God! Answer me, save me, according to Your word!
