Not because they are better people, but because they belong to the class of people less likely to commit crimes- or more likely to get away with it.</description>

		<description>I really enjoyed this post, and I agree, definitely, there is a need for addressing spirituality with highly educated folks.  I hope more will take up the challenge.

Matthew Nisbet is a communications professor who researches issues around science education and science communication, and also touches on communicating science with religious groups.  His excellent blog is called &#039;Framing Science,&#039; and I have seen a couple of posts there covering research on whether a scientific education leads to atheism.  

He writes: &quot;the data show that individuals raised in less religious families are more likely to self-select themselves into a PhD program and a scientific career.&quot;
