In the storm of life we struggle through myriads of stimuli of pressure, stress, and muti-problems that seek for a solution and answer. We are so suppressed by the routine of this every life style that most of us seem helpless. However, if we look closely to ancient techniques we shall discover the magnificent way to understand and realize the ones around us and mostly ourselves. If only we could stop for a moment and allow this to happen. May all beings be happy (Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu

Actually, I think your disagreement with me sounds less like the end of the process than in what I accept for input. Let me expand and you can correct me if I've misunderstood.

In my book When People Speak for God, I say "The last person who needs to hear from God is you." In a secular context, I could simply say, "The final decision is yours." I believe this is more descriptive than prescriptive, even though many of us will abdicate the actual decision making to someone else.

I'm guessing your question is why I would give scripture any place, even as a source of ideas. For that I guess the simple answer is that I give all material on spirituality some place in my spiritual decision making, and that the Bible is the keystone of the spiritual tradition of which I'm a member.

While God could communicate everything to me, in my opinion of course, I don't believe he will, thus I want to hear the spiritual experiences and insights of others.

That's the brief version.

It appears that you have some strong guidelines for distinguishing between divine communication and line noise. If so, why not just apply those guidelines directly to the problem? If such guidelines are possible, why bother with Scripture?

Would be interested to hear your views.
